The Education Workers Steering Committee (EWSC) represents over 7,000 CUPE education support workers in the province. Our education support workers work in many capacities within 20 of the 27 school divisions. Our members work as educational assistants, caretakers, journey trades persons and maintenance workers, bus drivers, administrative, clerical, library, resources assistants, technicians, information technology specialist, community nutrition coordinators, food service workers, social workers, school counsellors, speech and language assistants and therapist, interpreters and braillist, and may more capacities. Our members are professionals working directly with students or support staff that ensure our schools operate safely and run smoothly to provide the best learning environment for our students. We are a vital and integral part of our school system and our schools work because we do!
